When the film Shankarabharanam was announced there was big excitement among the movie lovers. For starters the title had a great recall value but beyond that the combination of writing talent of Kona Venkat and Nikhil on a roll with different subject, was the talk of the town.

Now after the release the same combination is coming under fire for the disappointment the film has turned out. First it’s the writer and his negativity seems to have rubbed off on the actor too. Nikhil too is coming under hammer for his poor performance as NRI. It hasn’t been the case for his last three films which also were successes at box office.

So ultimately it is coming down to the question of who let down the film the most. Is it Nikhil for raising the expectations as he has chosen three different and unique subjects prior to this or writer Kona Venkat who uttered great many words and promised a formula free film but failed to deliver?

We believe the reason lies somewhere in between and shouldn’t be put squarely on writer. Nikhil should also be blamed equally for agreeing to the subject in first place after displaying great acumen previously and also going overboard with his acting. Let’s hope this is a strong lesson learnt for the actor.
